Welcome

In March of 2025, in the middle of a 50 mile trail race, I had a heart attack. What was once a constant in my life, lots of running, has become a question mark. Overnight, I went from chasing the edge of my potential, to chasing my next doctors appointment.

As the aftermath of the heart attack unfolds, I write about it here in more-or-less real time. This is a record of the doctors appointments, tests, procedures, and medical developments. It’s also a window into the disappointments, adjustments and new perspectives that come as my life evolves.

I aspire to one day safely return to running, training, and racing. Only time can tell us how that pans out. My hope for this blog is: even if you’re not in the same position as me, you can gain something from my experiences, the people I meet, the lessons I learn, and the adventures we have.

Welcome along for the wild ride.
